Topic 1: How your Test Departments are Killing your Business
This topic will be presented by Christian Hujer.
Christian Hujer, founder of Nelkinda Software Craft, carries a tremendous experience in software development and software craftspersonship over the 20+ years. He is a polyglot in languages (Prolog to Java), frameworks and development environments (smart card to server). He is keen at following best coding and software development process related practices for example XP, Clean Code practices, TDD. He always strives for better software and better environment.
About the talk
A test department is a group of testers, sometimes also called the test team or QA team, that reports to a different manager than those developers who implement the production code. Many companies still have test departments, and are more or less unaware of the fatal consequences. In this talk, Christian Hujer explains the inevitable mechanics about how organization structures with separate test departments are negatively impacting the businesses of corporations in multiple ways and shows simple ways out of the situation.
